Welcome to my portfolio site. A designer's portfolio of past work is a good clue to their capabilities and aesthetic values. Prospective clients should look for a design style that appeals to their own visual aesthetic – or a design style for a specific project.

Please browse my portfolio samples shown on the home page. The individual portfolio pages are currently under construction and will be available soon. I believe my portfolio shows a broad spectrum of work done for a variety of clientele. I'd also like to think my design work is appealing and communicates a clear message in a visually exciting way.

Why did I choose design? By the time I was in first grade, I knew I wanted to be an artist. I loved to draw and paint. My parents weren't so sure being an artist was a practical profession, but despite their best efforts to point me toward other careers, I gravitated toward what I was good at and loved most - art. And specifically graphic design.

I believe in good design principles such as the heirarchy of information and providing 'white space' (when possible) to give the viewer's eye a place to rest -- or to guide the eye through the layout. The whole point of effective design is to present a message appealling to the senses and intellect that informs and motivates. That is the challenge of creating good design, and that's the part I really enjoy.

I hope you enjoy browsing through my portfolio as much as I have enjoyed creating each project. Thanks!

Other Skills

  • Typography

Typography is an art and is a key part of communicating a unified message. Choosing the right typeface can enhance or distract. Of course, it's all subjective, but it's often the expectations of the intended audience that must be fulfilled -- and not our own.

  • Spelling & Grammar

My spelling and grammar skills are very good and I'm an excellent typist, too.

  • Copywriting

I have a good bit of experience composing copy for ads, press releases, etc. It's something I am pretty good at, but I always strive to improve.

  • Photo-Editing

Sometimes a photograph needs some adjustment (contrast, levels, etc.) or a flaw removed. My photo-editing skills in Adobe Photoshop are excellent, and I have a very good understanding of image resolution, RGB and CMYK color systems, and preparing and saving files to be printed properly.

  • Project Management

I am a very organized person by nature, and I have enjoyed previous Production Manager positions with the responsibility for tracking projects through the steps of design and production. I have attended many press checks and bindery checks, and know what possible problems to look for. Tracking my time and feeling comfortable working on several projects simultaneously is second-nature.

  • Illustration

I love to draw in charcoal or pencil, and can also draw logos and maps in Adobe Illustrator.
